A new 56,600 sq ft Medical Centre in Stroud will begin taking shape in the coming weeks.
PDR’s latest contract award will see the old Woolworths building, in the heart of Stroud Town Centre, being converted into two GP surgeries, a pharmacy, dental surgery and additional space for a range of other complementary health and services providers over 5 floors.
Works include, partial demolition, full strip out, replacement roof and windows, rendered elevations, and reconfiguration of internal spaces to create:
- reception areas
- waiting rooms
- consultation, treatment and nurses rooms
- training library
- meeting rooms and offices
- retail space at basement level
- car parking provision
- external paving works on King Street
Work is due to begin in July and will see PDR work with Dransfield Properties once again, a relationship that spans 25 years.
Once complete the modern facility will service more than 15,000 patients.
The scheme is targeting BREEAM Very Good.
