Motor Vehicle Workshop & Office, Stockton

PDR has been awarded a design and build contract to provide MAN Truck and Bus with a new workshop, office, stores and service yard.

Located on their current 2.3-acre operational site in Stockton, the project includes phased demolition of a garage, café, workshop and office building, allowing for ongoing operations during the construction period.

Phase 1: Demolition of existing garage and café and construction of a new workshop and admin facilities

Phase 2: Demolition of existing workshop and admin facility and completion of external yard areas

The site requires ground improvement works therefore a vibro stone column solution was agreed with pad foundations and concrete slab.  This solution allowed for less excavation, less disposal and less concrete, in turn providing a significant cost saving for the Client.   Once complete the facility will include:

  • Open plan reception hall
  • Customer waiting area
  • 5 bay large commercial workshop with overhead KONE crane
  • Tester hall
  • Sales, boardroom & management offices
  • Welfare facilities
  • First Floor metal deck for office & part store
  • 2no inspection pits
  • Parts counter & warehouse
  • IT & workshop control room
  • Hot desk area

External works include large attenuation tank (516m3), large service yard, wash bays, 26 lorry/bus parking bays along with customer and staff parking, lighting, fencing and soft landscaping.
