PDR was awarded this D&B contract to develop a mixed-use retail development in the centre of Bridlington. The Park incorporates 3 units, namely:
- 22,000, sq ft Lidl
- 24,000 sq ft B&M
- 1,410 sq ft Coffee Outlet
Each of the buildings are constructed using steel frame, cladding, masonry and glazed facades. External works included services, substation, drainage, service yards, paving, lighting, perimeter fencing and soft landscaping with a total of 237 customer parking spaces.
PDR provided a full turnkey design and build services for the scheme. The 4-acre site had been contaminated over the years due to its previous use, the tender designs showed the removal of large amounts of spoil from site. Working with our supply chain partners PDR proposed an alternative solution to slightly raise the levels of the units, which resulted in no material being shipped off site. The spoil was also remediated to improve the ground bearing pressures to reduce foundation sizes of the retail units.
This environmentally friendly solution eliminated the need to remove contaminated materials from site as well as realising significant cost savings for the Client.
