Yorkshire Firm to Build New Leeds Porsche Centre

A Yorkshire firm has clinched the contract to build the UK’s largest Porsche Centre in Leeds.

PDR Construction, which has offices in Leeds and Hull, will build the £3.5m centre for JCT600 Ltd, one of the UK’s largest privately owned motor groups which has almost a 40 year history with the Porsche brand.

Work starts at the 2.75 acre site at the junction of Gelderd Road and Wortley Ring Road at the end of August and is due for completion in the Summer of 2007.

The building has been designed by MDG Architects, specialists in motor dealership design. When it is completed, the property will be home to a 34 car showroom and also include a 21 bay workshop, and will be the largest Porsche dealership in the UK.

Previous dealerships completed by PDR for JCT600 include Lister Park BMW in Bradford, which was opened by HRH Prince Andrew, Brooklands – Lotus, Ferrari and Maserati Centre in Leeds, Peugeot in Bradford and Mercedes-Benz in Sheffield.

PDR’s procurement director John White said: “This is a hugely prestigious scheme for JCT600 and we look forward to delivering a landmark dealership next year. We are delighted to be helping with such an important development for JCT600, Porsche and Leeds business community.”

JCT600 already represents the Porsche brand in Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield and has held the franchise since 1967, making it the second longest-serving Porsche dealer in the UK.
